As I promised earlier this week, I’m letting you know about the other new comedy room that’s opened up in Townsville.

Local legend comedian Tim Axton has teamed up with the owners of the newly refurbished Empire Hotel in South Townsville to create Sunday Roast, an open mic event with a relaxed beer-garden vibe.

I did the first one last month and it was a lot of fun. The venue is fantastic, thanks to a herculean and visionary restoration by the new owners. The room is intimate and comfortable and a good time was had by all. I’ll be at this one on Sunday and I’d like to see you there.
