Speakeasy Comedy was an event run earlier this month, the brainchild of comedian Nick Jones. The idea was to have performers and audiences all dressed up in a prohibition-themed environment featuring cocktails, canapes and luxury entertainment from an amazing singer who’s name I never got and some of NQ’s best comics, all in the gorgeous banquet room theater space at the Townsville Brewery.

It was a great night, as I knew it would be. Apparently there are regular future Speakeasy events planned, with slight variations on the theme, so that’s exciting.

I was one of the performers at this one, lucky enough to work alongside Nick Jones, local comedy legend Justin Brown, Roastmaster Tim Axton, Michelle Maguire, Indy C, Patrick Houghton. All of them brought their “A Game.”

Linda Bone the wonderful photographer was also there, capturing all of the magic and mystery of the event. She has that amazing ability to capture a story in a still frame which you see in the best photographers so I recommend you check out her work.
